Say Yes to Caffeine - No to Pollution!
So I have to be honest. I’m a caffeine addict. I must blow at least 10% of my paycheck at Starbucks.
Honestly, I have no problem with this…at least from a health point of view (not bank account health, mind you). I’ve read studies that say a certain amount of coffee a day is actually good for the body. It helps with the circulation, alertness, and may keep away certain brain disorders that accompany old age.
But, for all I know, those studies were funded by coffee companies…so I’m not banking on Starbucks keeping me alive.
My Problem – My Solution
What does bother me about my coffee habit, however, is the waste I produce. Every time I throw away one of those plastic lids that protects me from my scalding drug of choice, I cringe. Hence, I went looking for an alternative and found, “The Eco Coffee Cup – Friendly Reusable 12oz Ceramic Coffee or Tea Travel Tumbler Mug with Silcone Grip Holder and Lid” on Amazon.
Keep the Coffee, Ditch the Plastic
It comes with 3 reusable ceramic cups, a sleeve that prevents your hands from blistering, and, best off all, no disposable plastic tops. Rather, you get a reusable lid.
If costs around around $17 or so (not sure how long they will be in stock at that price). But you generally save on coffee when you bring your own cup, so you should make that money back. And, most important, you do your part for the environment…and get your coffee too! It’s a pretty good deal.
